Jumpstart Your Personal Branding Crusade Through Blogging
Jumpstart Your Personal Branding Crusade Through Blogging 3 Ways to Leverage Your Personal Brand Through Blogging For years practitioners have been leveraging their own voice or brand through blogging platforms. So much that we created HRBlogger.info a few years ago to capture all of this content in one location. Ive learned over the years that some practitioners are doing it all wrong. They arent consistent with the information they post, they arent leveraging themselves as experts in whatever topic theyre most passionate about/deal with on a daily basis, and their just not social with other practitioners. Dont worry! Im here to help! Ive come up with three simple ways that youll be able to leverage your personal blog into a successful one! 3 Ways to Leverage Your Personal Brand Through Blogging Know your subject matter. There are hundreds, if not thousands of practitioners out there who blog about their daily experiences or whatever subject theyre most passionate about there. If youre an employment branding expert I promise you there are another 10-20 out there that think the same thing. In order to set yourself apart really build your blog by focusing on a specific topic. Be social. Over the past four years I have learned that the social practitioner is the most successful practitioner. Dont get consumed with your overworked HR life to the point where you dont interact and build your network of practitioners. If youre wanting to launch your own blog and create your own experience being social with practitioners is the easiest avenue for them to start sharing your content and leveraging your voice. Consistency is key. Anyone who believes that having a blog is easy is a complete sucker. Blogs take time, dedication, and patience. If you arent social or well-known in the space, youll be spending hours on writing a really good blog for 50 page views, if that. You might feel discouraged with those 50 page views, but youll need to spend another two to three hours in writing another blog to get another 50 page views. Consistency in blogging is the only way that youll be able to start building your own personal brand through blogging. Bonus Tip! Be real. The HR world is already filled with cubed drones and those no-frill HR ladies. Break out of the mold and start being real with your readership. Use real situations (without personal information of course) and be a real resource for those who are just now starting out in the field. My favorite example of someone who is 100% real (aside from Blogging4Jobs, of course) is the HR Schoolhouse i.e. Robin Schooling. .ai-rotate {position: relative;} .ai-rotate-hidden {visibility: hidden;} .ai-rotate-hidden-2 {position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;} .ai-list-data, .ai-ip-data, .ai-fallback, .ai-list-block {visibility: hidden; position: absolute; width: 50%; height: 1px; z-index: -9999;} The Benefits of a Multi-Contributor Blog This might come off as sales-pitchy, but leveraging your voice within a well-established multi-contributor blog will help jumpstart your own personal branding crusade. A multi-contributor blog like Blogging4Jobs has a wide range of topics and several experts relative to their own subject matter. As a practitioner, blogs like Blogging4Jobs loves getting real advice from those who are in the trenches day in and day out. The benefits of writing for a site like Blogging4Jobs is that weve already built up a network of influencers and readership thatll help jumpstart your own personal branding crusade. Now for the real sales pitchEach summer Blogging4Jobs looks for new contributors on our blog. Its now mid-summer and weve started recruiting practitioners who are looking to build up their personal brand by sharing content that theyre not only passionate about, but also knowledgable. You dont have to have any experience with blogging to give it a go, just some time and a desire to elevate your brand. If interested, contact me at blake(at)blogging4jobs.com.
